Tourism and destination advertising

Your next visitors are at the ballpark tonight.

Destination marketers target the cities within a few hours' drive. Minor league venues in those feeder markets reach families who plan weekend trips.

Why it works

Families who spend a summer night at the ballpark are the same families planning a weekend away. Minor league clubs sit in many of the mid-size cities that feed regional destinations, which makes the venue a direct line to your drive markets.

We map your feeder markets to the clubs that play there, then build plans with video board, LED, sweepstakes and theme nights that showcase your destination. Sweepstakes and trip giveaways must follow federal and state promotion laws, including official rules and no-purchase-necessary entry, and we coordinate with your legal team on every promotion.

When to plan

Summer travel is planned in spring, so baseball lines up with booking season. Winter destinations can use hockey and G League.

Baseball

Seasons run from early April through September. Season-long packages are usually committed in the fall and winter, and 2027 baseball promotional calendars are being set now.

Hockey

Regular seasons generally run from October to April. Season packages are usually committed before the season starts; theme nights can often be added during the year.

G League basketball

Seasons run from November into April, alongside hockey. Planning before the season gives you the widest choice of nights and placements.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you target only our drive markets?

Yes. Add your feeder DMAs in the media plan builder and we will build the plan around clubs in those markets.

What rules apply to trip sweepstakes?

Sweepstakes need official rules and a free method of entry, and some states require registration or bonding for larger prize pools. Your legal team approves the rules, and the club approves how the promotion runs in the venue.

Is category exclusivity available?

Some clubs already partner with their own local tourism office. We check for conflicts first, and any exclusivity a club offers is written into your proposal.

How do we measure a tourism program?

Use a market-coded landing page or booking code for each feeder market and track visits and bookings in your systems. The club's proof of performance documents what ran.
